Reviewed Feb 07, 2018

We were in #18 that was a pull thru. It was gravel and needed one riser on the road side to level rig. From the front gate to the rovering hosts , everyone was very nice and helpful. We were in the park at the time of the “Blue Moon and eclipse”, moonlight hikes were offered as well as other programs around this event. The campgrou... more

General Information: Check-In was a breeze, there is a manned station as you are driving into the park, we gave park attendant our name and they gave us a park map (showing trails, rules etc.) then verbally told us how to find our spot. Each spot has a picnic table, Charcoal BBQ pit and fire ring, water and electric hook-ups, there ar... more

“Beautiful Views”

Reviewed Nov 09, 2017

This was our 2nd time staying at Usery. A great location with wonderful trails, views and ranger programs. We really like the outside loop sites and the views of the surrounding landscape. We enjoyed a few hikes, some great vistas and many friendly neighbors. Weekends fill up with your usual noisy family / scout camping trips. The ... more

“Decent spot close to Phoenix and lots to do in Tonto N.P. ”

Reviewed May 10, 2017

Overall Rating

The best thing about this park is it’s proximity to the Phoenix area. Usery Mountain Regional Park offers an escape from the busy city, beautiful desert landscaping, and a variety of fun outdoor activities. During the day, you can enjoy all that Tonto National Forest has to offer: float the Salt River (in the summer months), enjoy oth... more

“Another great Arizona state park”

Reviewed Apr 22, 2017

Overall Rating

Close to Phoenix and Scottsdale, but far enough to feel out in nature, this was another great Arizona state park. The only negative I can think of is there is a gun range nearby as some others have mentioned. It didn't really bother me personally but if you are looking for complete quiet, it may bug you. It wasn't that busy when I was ... more

Great county parked tucked out of the hustle and bustle of Mesa (if there is a hustle and bustle in Mesa)...with electric and water hookup. Basically you feel away from the city, but close enough to do shopping and do other things. The site space for your rig is nice and there is nice space in-between sites as well. “Perfect place to escape the big city”

Reviewed Mar 26, 2017

Overall Rating

We loved this park for its location to hikes and open space. Camp hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. Sites do not offer too much privacy but all are relatively large and offer great mountain views. Make sure to bike the property, hike to Wind Cave take in a sunset over the city lights.
