Free camping throughout the year with a one time $10 pass bought at any store here. Right on the beach is beautiful but very windy (of course). Dogs are welcomed but I didnt see many. Weekends are bumper to bumper and many of the campers...and...
Found a lovely camp site right on the water, but the first night the strong April winds nearly took the tent to the other side of the campground, so moved to a more sheltered site. Many fire ants so beware...especially under the cow patties....
Very clean campground. Maintained nicely. Water on most of the sites, tables, and shaded. Guess you can hike along the lake, to the "Unfinished Castle" but hear there are a few steep cliffs to be careful about. I plan on doing that trail...
Got here and couldn't stay...didn't have a reservation or a tent. Looks like a lovely place though. Oh...and lots or road construction to get through on the 1st of March 2018
