"Beautiful, quiet, clean park "

Big park, but the sites are generously spaced apart with trees and bushes for privacy. The roads could use some new pavement, it was seriously bumpy to get around the backside in my rig; guess that helps keep people under the 5 mph speed... Read more

"Quiet, beautiful waterside camping"

Down narrow winding roads, past Wilbur Dam and next to the Appalachian Trail is one of the sweetest little campsites I've enjoyed, Wautaga Dam. A TVA site, it has a friendly camp host who does 2x daily garbage pickup from sites, and almost every... Read more

"Parking lot that sounds like you're staying on I-40"

This is mostly a long-term resident park, so the best spots are not open for weekly or nightly stays. I have to use earplugs to keep out the truck noise on Interstate 40 at night, it is crazy loud till 1AM or so. The sites are tightly spaced, so... Read more

"Nice RV park in town, great staff"

Scoped this out for a friend, and ended up staying here 3 nights myself while recovering from a long hot weekend in Tucson. This place goes the extra mile, even offering to back my trailer in when my remote control was on the fritz! And the front... Read more

"Peaceful place, large sites, nice hikes"

Stayed five nights here, my first experience with New Mexico State Parks, and it was great. The camp hosts met me as I was driving in, waiting for me to dump (needed it!) and then led me to my site with their golf cart! My site was HUGE, and had a... Read more

"Quiet, beautiful views, close to supplies"

Loved this park! Half-empty most of the week, although the water/electric sites fill up fast (half are walk-up, half are reservable). The views to the west across the desert are amazing, and the Sacramento mountains behind the camp are picturesque... Read more

"Loops A and B are good, Ringtail is not."

My friends raved about this place, and it is gorgeous scenery as well as being close to lots of stores and banks and stuff like that, although you'd never know it from inside the park. Loops A and B mostly have power and are pretty well spaced out... Read more

"Beautiful open space with great desert views"

Only stayed one night, but it was worth the drive from I-10 to get to the park. Sites are generously spaced, so you can have privacy if you want it or be open to your neighbors. Site was dead level side to side and front to back. And it was so... Read more

"Crowded but the beach is great"

They really pack 'em in here, each loop has a lot of campers so the noise level on weekends and holidays can be crazy. Lots of families, so lots of kids. Weekdays in January were pretty deserted, so much better as far as overcrowding goes. If you... Read more

"RV hookup spots have all the view"

Showed up and traded my HQ spot for Mecca Beach when I saw that the spots have beautiful views across the dirt/sand/barnacles to the sea. Camp hosts friendly and made the switch with the rangers, saving me a trip back to the main ranger station.... Read more
