The Corp of Engineers has closed this free loop and it is patrolled because of drug problems. Shame because it is a really nice setup.

Wish I could have stayed. 8 sites surrounding a small lake with Picnic tables, fire rings and a pit toilet. Didn’t see any alligators but signs warn of them. About a 5 mile ride from Bear Island Campground. $5 with senior pass.
8 sites along river and 28 sites in woods along stream. Picnic tables, grills, level sites, water, electric and wonderful shower facilities. Dump station. Wish we could have stayed more nights. Dam and locks near entrance.
Lovely campgrounds around lake. No amenities except trash cans and 1 picnic table.

Had a nice time. It cost nothing as we have our Golden Pass to get into the National Park. There are a couple of site areas in the Park one for $4 and another $8 per night. They also have a dump station and Potable Water for free.

We pulled into the beach access just east of Seaside. There is another access about 5 miles east of Seaside. The beach was hard packed sand with lots of room. There are trash cans all along the beach and it is fairly clean.
The beach camping was $10.00 but you also had to pay $3.00 per person per day for an entrance fee. They did have RV sites with 30/50 Amp electric and water ($20.00 + EF). There was a dump station about a 1/2 mile away. Pit toilets were clean...
