We stayed in early March 2020 and had a decent experience.
- Strong Wifi/Cell signal
- Great drainage (poured rain 2 days here and no fear of flooding)
- Concrete structures in athletic complex for weather shelters
- Easy access...
We stopped here for a night traveling up I65 in early March 2020 and it provided the perfect place to rest. There's a nice walking path to stretch your legs that goes along a lake and golf course. There's a nice mix of pull-throughs, back-ins,...
It's all about location here. The rate posted here was over Mardi Gras. Staff was helpful and amenities were well maintained here. We felt very safe inside the park, despite it not being in the greatest feeling area. Easy walk to Bourbon...
What a great value for 3 nights using Passport America (normal rate is $32)! The owners were very friendly over the phone and accommodated us last-minute for our stay at the beginning of March.
The location is very close to the quaint Magnolia...
We stayed just before Mardis Gras 2020, so the campground was full, but never felt crowded. The rate I posted included all taxes and fees. There's plenty of space and vegetation between sites and the road/train noise was minimal. The ranger who...
We stayed while passing through the area for one night. Pretty good price for FHU. Was quiet but a little muddy due to rain. Staff was friendly. Saw 2 laundry room/bathhouses but did not use. I would stay here again if in the area,.
Other reviews here did a good job of covering, so I will just add a couple things I noticed to be aware of:
- Sites are indeed a bit unlevel, but we were able to level with minimal effort on sites 29 and 42
- Bathhouses aren't great, but...
If you, I recommend Palmetto Ridge when booking here, The sites are much more spacious and most (if not all) have FHU. The bathhouses are very nice in this loop as well.
The park itself is very busy and for a good reason. There's tons to do...
Access off the main road was easy, just follow the instructions on your permit email to get in the gate. There are 4 somewhat defined sites here, all with fire rings and 3 with picnic tables. There was non-potable water and a porta pottie on...
We were in a pinch for a place to stay during Feb 2020. This was the only place we could find with availability on a Friday, so we bit the bullet and paid over $100 for a pretty average pull-through site.
