Do not know what last reviewer experienced. Side lot sign says RV/Truck parking.
Campground was full when we arrived at 3 pm so we stayed in the overflow, turn around area, with no hookups, for free. Was told it often fills up on weekends. Water, electric and sewer for $12.00. Verizon - two to four bars.
Agree with other reviewers.
Came to visit a friend and paid the monthly rate $275 + electric. Attracts fisherman with dock and boat ramp next to Arroyo Colorado river. No river front camping. Nice facilities, friendly staff. Out of the way with dark skies for star gazing.
Newer and easier in and out than one to east.
2 Speedway gas stations on Hwy 160. The West one is newer with more room. I was told water is city water but located with dump facility.

Review for campground and Ouray area. Two weeks before arriving I looked at camping, the private facilities, KOA, etc., were full. Amphitheater was our best bet but reserved sites unavailable and few first come first serve. Considered Thistledown...
$2 off 62 and older. Restroom/shower older and 3 out of 5 for cleanliness. Some road noise. Pretty area, hiking trailhead at campground. Nearest town 7 miles with two good restaurants.

"Nice older park with at least half permanent. "
"Newer and easier in and out than one to east."
"Wife's second favorite due to clear creek out back door. "
"Very nice with great camping spot. Negatives, gravel road dust & highway noise."
