"Bathrooms were locked"

Online stated there were accessible restrooms but after walking over the field to them, we found them locked. Fine for a quick stopover, two sites are very close to each other but offer water. Couple of cars came into the park and someone was... Read more

"Pretty cool spot"

Our first time in the desert. Shaded picnic tables and fire rings and very cool as you can see for miles. Sunset was AMAZING. We couldn’t stay, it was during a heat wave. We left to drive out of the heat but would totally come back during cooler... Read more

"Ok, not private but pretty"

FYI - this camp area involves a steep and windy climb for about six miles, and sits at 10,000 feet. I’d you’re not from the area be advised - the elevation definitely impacted us. It is a very pretty spot with beautiful trees and a nice view.... Read more

"Gorgeous!!"

We chose site 1, with the little wooden bridge, because it is set back and very spacious. The views were awesome, looking out at a rocky ledge and another behind us. The smell of juniper is beautiful and there was lots of shade. Picnic tables and... Read more

"Beautiful, spacious, convenient "

We stayed here while visiting Lake Tahoe. Don’t confuse this with Hope Valley Campground, this space is free. It’s forest service land so no real “designated” sites. You find a spot that works for you and use it. We were able to choose a large and... Read more

"Beautiful"

This is a very pretty park with some wonderful trees! Sites were clean and there are walking trails through the woods. Some sites are definitely more private than others, but 35 was great. There was construction going on to one side of the park by... Read more

"Just ok"

We stayed here as a stopover during our road trip. We drove in quite a ways and there were a few long termers set up along the way. Definitely quieter than other reviews say if you go further in. No tables or metal fire rings, just fire pits made... Read more

"Amazing"

Not too difficult to access in our ‘78 camper van. We were the only people there. We only saw two recognized sites but both had picnic tables and fire rings. They’re up on the road and the reservoir is down the hill a bit. You really can’t beat... Read more

"Absolutely wonderful"

We stayed here on our way to Yellowstone (15 minutes) and loved it. Our site was above the river and provided nice sounds and sights. On the opposite side of the river is a pretty cliff. The scenery was gorgeous. Sites are very shaded with... Read more

"Prairie dogs and bison!"

We stayed here after visiting the badlands. It IS a long drive down a dirt road but we did fine in our ‘78 van. To get the views of the actual badlands, climb to the hills at the western side of the camp. But the immediate surroundings are still... Read more
