"A welcome place to park for the night"

As we traveled east, we had a hard time finding an area to pull in late at night and sleep in the camper until we took off again the next morning. We passed a few NM rest areas, but didn't feel comfortable parking at them overnight. We pulled into... Read more

"Nice views, but super dusty!"

We arrived here on a Saturday and the 525/Loy Butte areas were very busy. There were lots of off road vehicles, vans, campers and tents. Most of the sites nearest the main highway were full. We continued almost 4.5 miles out the road from the main... Read more

"Good once you get there."

We spent 5 nights here and really enjoyed walking through the fields and hiking among the interesting rock formations. We parked at the end of the road that forked to the right, and the area was very popular among rock climbers. There was some... Read more

"Great spot in between boondocks!"

We spent 1 night here to dump, fill, charge up, do laundry and get good showers. Fortunately we called a few days ahead and made a reservation because they didn't have too many short term sites available. The park seems to be mostly longer term... Read more

"Great spot to reset"

We visited this RV park after staying a week in Indian Bread Rocks. Great place for a 1-nighter as they offer full hookups (water, power, sewage), small laundromat, hot showers, propane refill, wifi, free air, and there is a food truck and small... Read more

"Cool place to setup for a few days"

We stayed 5 nights here and really enjoyed it. There are several camping areas, albeit a little crowded even in the beginning of February. There is a pit toilet at the entrance along with a few trashcans. Cell service on our phones was decent... Read more

"Fine for an overnight"

We liked that this was convenient to go to White Sands NP. It was also nice to have a backdrop of mountains. Beyond that, there wasnt much to entice us to stay more than 1 night.

"Cool site but no AT&T signal"

We wanted to stay here and thought the place looked cool. It was nice to see trees! Unfortunately, while we could get AT&T internet, we could not make a phone call or send out a text, so we were unable to stay since we still have to be able to... Read more

"Best of the Carlsbad boondocking"

This was a great boondocking spot convenient to Carlsbad Caverns NP. We checked out Chosa and Mile 10 boondocking and thought this one was much better. Felt very safe and there were several folks and families camped here. There are about 6 tent... Read more
