Great location and pretty little lake.
Arrived at 6:15 on Thursday and it was full. We were surprised because so many reviews said it was lightly used. Fortunately there was a cross-country cyclist who offered to share site since he only had bicycle and tent. There is road noise but...
Site right on water in beautiful narrow valley. Was able to drop kayak in water from campsite. Fire rings, grill, and picnic table in site. Definitely will come back due to great kayaking and location.
Want to be alone in the beautiful Texas desert…this is the place. Site not very level but reasonable. Table and fire pit a walk uphill but sweeping vista. Maintained 4x4 road to get in but we saw a Subaru and Volvo SUV back here. WeBoost gave us...
We reserved in tent area near the RV area because we have a camper van and this was all that was available. We’re used to SP’s having nice parking area for site. Both RV and tent areas are like parking lots with some grass for picnic table and...
Back up right to water. If it were full, it’s more of parking space width sites, but I’ve never see it with more than a few campers. Only ones here in October. Drop kayak on at campsite.
We pulled in late and left early. Nice little spot. Thank you, Slates!
Pulled in late at night and out in the morning. We are self contained so didn’t try hookups. Safe, level, quiet. No frills, but it was all we needed. Thank you, Tatum!
Great birding and other wildlife. We saw deer, rabbits, and a baby boar. We rode our bikes around and wished we had a kayak. Nice star gazing and amazing sunsets. Friendly campers. We would definitely come back.
Drive on beach was easy with very packed sand. Get your $12 annual permit from Stripes gas station in Port A before coming to beach. Definitely worth spending a couple days right on beach. Beach was a little dirty as we arrived day after...
