"Ok, if you like Thousand Trails"

This campground is geared towards the TT crowd. If you don’t like TT, you won’t like this property. Not many other options in the area. Everywhere in region fills up quickly, but that’s because it’s Tahoe. I would say more, but just avoid if not TT.

"RV Timeshare; “manufactured town”"

This is currently an RV timeshare property, type of project. I would avoid it, unless its type of web site lists what you’re looking for. Kind of tacky, but they try. Feels like a fake experience and I couldn’t get a sewer hook up, which by the... Read more

"Great Natl Park location, if want to stay near services."

Host and Rangers will take note of your RV size — see their official web site for current size regulations. Arrived without reservations and barely found a site, but it was spacious and next to the trails to see “the big trees,” visitor center,... Read more

"Ok for isolated tent or pop up camping; sketchy people."

Very Nice alpine reservoir, long primitive roads with randomly open/closed gates, easy to get lost, not very big camp so reserve online, camp host was a drunk, toilets were nasty, ok for tents but not RVs. Other guests were loud and obnoxious... Read more

"Boring, expensive, poor WiFi, poor cell"

The prime location is the only thing about this KOA that I enjoy, but I’m not a KOA fan to begin with. All I can offer about this place is that it’s your typical KOA. Long story short: this area has a massive amount of camping options, for... Read more

"This place is mainly for local teenagers escaping from parents into the woods"

I’ll keep this review concise: Greenhorn is for local youth to gather in the woods and do what teenagers do best. Find somewhere else to camp, unless you’re a teenager that broke into dad’s stashes.

"Easy access, fresh mountain living, fair rates, friendly."

This place is a rural mountain living gem! My Class A auto leveling took a few attempts to even things out, but it worked out. You may want to drop your jacks on some wood rounds, or other base. If your rig “desires” to be perfectly level for... Read more

"Great little break from boondocking."

Good for a boondocking break. Great food, “decent casino,” easy I-5 access, a couple of nice amenities, low-key north valley spot; but, it’s a “just” a basic 50amp RV park, yet it is nicely, casually tucked away from the more urban spots in the... Read more

"Suburban boondocking in a truck lot"

What more can I say? It’s a safe place to boondock at a nice little casino. Be sure to tell security your plans of stay length and their rules — and of course (since it’s free dry camping) visit their place while there and spend a few dollars. Be... Read more

Nice park. It’s a nice break from boondocking, every so often. Well maintained overall, rigs all around in good shape. Recommend river spots that are farther from the interstate 5. Didn’t have any problems while here. It’s not the romance of... Read more
