Our site was the first one on the right as you enter the camping area. This is not really a campground, but dispersed camping along the gravel road headed up into the canyon. The road and sites are pretty tight with not many opportunities to turn...
It took some effort to get our 27-foot Airstream back here; slow, careful effort. The 20+ mile road has some very rough sections. Keep that in mind. Our reward was a spacious lake-side spot and four days to enjoy the handful of lakes in the area....
Well you can't beat the access to Lander, WY (5 min walk to Main Street) or the price. It was very crowded when we stayed mid-summer, but the vibe was good. Met and shared stories from the road with lot of other travelers, mostly climbers. People...

Several good spots around this lake to post up half-hour outside Laramie, WY. Pit toilets available and boat launch. Good fishing in lake and close to Laramie and Little Laramie rivers as well. The wind certainly can blow here.
This is nothing more than a WGFD parking area for access to the Laramie River. This is a good option if you're just here to fish the stream. There is a pit toilet on site, but it's in rough shape. Not a great place to camp if not interested in...
Right next to Interstate so would recommend only if you want that convenience ('cause it's noisy). Lots of rules and lots of bugs. Amenities don't match the price (coin op showers? c'mon). Wouldn't choose to stay here again.
We've been camping here since our first forays with our little 19-foot Airstream (pre-family). There always seems to be space and it's nice to have a 'no reservations' option in the area. We find the price to fair for what you get (power, water,...
A steep dirt road leads up into the Oil Well Flats Rec Area, but we took it slow and got our 27-foot Airstream to a great spot. Cell service improves the higher you go. Level ground is hard to come by, so make sure you have some blocks to stack....
We based here for a couple days to explore the area. Lake Alice Campground was delightful and the staff was helpful and friendly. We got a nice site with 30 amp power for $14 a night. Hot showers are available at the entrance station. There are a...

Big open area on National Forest land just west of Santa Fe. It's near an active landfill, but you really don't notice. There's a maintained outhouse on site but not any water. Located 15-minutes from everything in Santa Fe and we got good cell...
