Mt Diablo is fun to visit, but at the same time - beware of the desert summer heat. Be sure to do the hike around the mountain but bring lots of water.
At Juniper campground, you can see views of the ENTIRE SF bay from the outside...
This is a small camp area with 8 or so sites and a envelope/cash pay station for first-come-first-serve. There is a pit toilet and picnic tables, but not much else. Heavily shaded and big trees. Basic, nothing special.
This campsite is REMOTE...
Flushable toilets and close to the Lake.
Breathtaking views of Tetons, sitting on a point atop a quiet valley. The only downside is it’s a 15 minute rough drive from the entrance
"Unique views of the bay. Very hot in summer, but good desert mountain hikes nearby."
"Remote option for Big Sur Camping"
"Solid site, 10 minutes from crater lake"
