"Loved this quirky campground"

Easy access near 101 but no road noise.. Good for big rigs. Looks unkempt and old fashioned- it is. However, it was great for us. Butch met us in his golf-cart (& dog Bailey). Pull through sites for us and friends in same size RV. Old park with... Read more

"Holy crap, we're actually allowed to do this?"

God bless Texas! Awesome. You will need the $10 Beach sticker and apparently the 'season' runs Jan 1 to Dec 31 so yeah, it's all year. Not entirely sure we'll ever leave :)

"Well worth it!"

Really enjoyed our overnight stay, backed right on to the water and with full (new) hook ups. Camp host Jimmy was very nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The surface is recycled ground-up asphalt so it is quite lumpy and can be sharp--so no bare... Read more

"Gorgeously maintained mosquito heaven "

It really upsets me to only give this 3 stars because the campground is gorgeous looking, beautifully maintained, and spaciously laid out. The hosts are super nice and very friendly; there simply is nothing to dislike here. Except the crazy... Read more

"Rustic and lovely, but with challenging access. "

Funky, rustic little park, with lots of low hanging trees and overhead wires. Fairly tightly packed sites laid out in a bit of a random order, lots of fairly scruffy full timers with built up extensions to the campers including patios and front... Read more

Lovely lady at park entrance found us a spot despite not having a reservation, and the charming camp host met us to show us to our spot. $28 for full 50A hookups is great! The gorgeous, picturesque campground is beautifully maintained with mown... Read more

"Beautiful, rustic, and very historic campground "

The sites are not very level and are not paved. Those are literally the only downsides; otherwise this campground is absolutely spectacular. Many of the trees are historic, dating back to the Civil War, and indeed the whole area is protected... Read more

"A hidden gem"

The washboard road to get here is about 3 miles(?) long and took us around 25 minutes to navigate. That is literally the only negative, and perhaps it's even a positive as the campsite is off the beaten track and therefore so quiet. Jeez, this... Read more

"Rustic, woodsy feel; very pleasant"

Definitely has a basic campground feel among lots of fairly dense trees, so if you like shady and wooded then you'll like this. It does have 50A and water hook ups which is nice, although the sewer service is a dump station on the way out, so you... Read more

"Quite local but not really walking distance"

Nice spacious parking lot with tons of room. Police presence frequently so we felt safe despite the disturbing sound of gunfire in the morning. The lot is not next to the French Quarter so you’ll walk about a mile to get there. Essentially... Read more
