"Great overnight stop!"

All the Arkansas rest stops are gorgeous (for rest stops). They have clean, updated bathrooms, and well kept grounds. It’s a great place to stop to grab vending machine food, give the dogs a potty break or yourself. We chose to stay here on our... Read more

"Awesome camping along the rim"

We stayed here the last 2 weekends, first in H32, then in H16. Most of the 47 available spots here are huge. Some are smaller and great for tents. The prime spots are closer to the visitors center, H1 - 3A, B, C, D, E. Hard to get to those spots,... Read more

"Beautiful, spacious sites!"

This is a really neat area on the side of a mountain. There are lots of spots that are spacious and spread out. The locals seem to leave their rigs here during the week, so you may have to drive up a ways to find an open spot. If its warm, it can... Read more

"Gorgeous spot by creek/river.....depending on time of year"

You can’t beat this spot. Across from Anvil, and better and bigger. Mid August is probably a great time to go and we got to hear the water throughout the night. We stayed here so we were close to the Ice Lake Basin Trail. Verizon and TMobile... Read more

"Smaller, but pretty!"

Anvil is the smaller of the 2, Sultan is the other side of the creek and IMHO the better side. Anvil is smaller. Unfortunately this side was overrun by inconsiderate campers who took over campsites with canopies or their hammocks. Definitely park... Read more

"An abundance of beautiful, large sites among the trees!"

As you take the exit off I17 into Munds Park, keep taking the main road straight until it turns to dirt. You’ll see a sign that camping is limited to 14 days Casner Park is 3 miles in, but 240 takes you all the way to Mormon Lake (12 miles in).... Read more

"Holy cannoli’s this is beautiful!"

While I was a little leery after reading the review down below with their 35 footer, I’m going to venture they must have improved the road. We stayed June 2020, to social distance and get out of Phoenix. There were a few 35 footers up here, and... Read more

"It’s a tough spot"

Both of these 2 dispersed campgrounds are tough. Rough roads, and really only set up for tents. If you happened to go up on a Thursday morning, you might be in luck, but come up real early Friday morning and they are all gone. Like another poster... Read more

"Quiet spot, right outside of Payson"

This is a couple miles outside of Payson and you drive through a residential neighborhood to get to the park. It seems over 50% are there full-time. Everyone there, the owners and the people who stay there were all very nice. It was nice and... Read more
