Stayed March 12, 2020 for 1 night. Nice park next to river and close to town. Police patrolled often. Lots of spaces to choose from.
Stayed Jan. 14-21, 2020. Bought the Texas State Parks Pass. Had to stay on bayside because they are upgrading beachside. Would love to camp on beachside in the future. Bayside was basically a circle of sites. The bathrooms were new and really...
Jan 10-14, 2020
Lots of rain and interior sites flooded. Our site was very uneven, but doable. Lots of places to walk the dogs. Set up for lots of day picnicking. We would stay again if passing through the Lake Charles area, but wouldn’t make it...
Stayed Dec 27, 2019-Jan 10, 2020. Sites were all pull thru and good size, with easy access to beach. Electric & Water only. 2 very nice bath houses and free laundry. Dogs weren’t allowed on beach, so we had to leave park to run them. Constant...
Great park. It felt more like a KOA than a State Park. Nice dog park, nice roomy level sites.
Actually we stayed at Hurricane North and almost had the place to ourselves. Wonderful lake views. Campground host was great! There was zero cell coverage. Bathrooms/Showers were clean, but old.
Sites were very tight and close together, but they were separated by lots of vegetation. All sites had paths to restrooms, which could use some updating. Laundry and book exchange. Lots of history and trails. We rented a canoe and spent a couple...
Quick stop on our way to Southern Florida. Very wooded! Bathrooms/showers were nice and clean. Had a book exchange.
Stopped on our way to Florida. We loved this park. Very clean and beautiful views. We stayed on a peninsula and had it to ourselves. The restrooms and showers were very nice and clean. We will go back again!! Some traffic noise, but not that bad.
Stayed at site 27 which is right next to the water. We had plenty of birds to watch. Only stayed 2 nights as we were traveling south. Very close to highway.
"Had the nicest bathrooms & showers!!"
"Secluded, but so close to town!"
"Very quiet and secluded"
