"Right off a rough dirt road. Not my favorite"

There are better places to camp nearby. If not in the Lakeview Campground at Parker Canyon Lake, then try Scotia Canyon. But if those spots are taken, and you want to boondock away from people, it's a 4.5mi drive up a rough dirt road from the... Read more

"Pretty Spot just off the AZ Trail"

There are certainly easier boondock sites to get to that are in the area. This one is 5 miles of rocky dirt road from Parker Canyon Lake. The altitude is just shy of 6,000ft msl. So- not high enough for summer camping (too warm) and... Read more

"Larger boondocking sites for RVs here"

Just head on in FR4569 (not marked) for some boondock locations. It's a few hundred yards past the (closed) road to the telescopes, or about 6 miles after the pavement ends. At least 6 open areas down this short dirt road, which is generally 2WD. ... Read more

"Lotsa Tent spaces. Limited room for an RV"

10 miles on a dirt road to get here. Some washboard, some smooth. some rocky. 2WD road, but to get in and out of our campground area, 4wd was a must. Pass Sycamore Canyon Campground, there are a number flat areas off the road and next to the... Read more

"Ponderosa Pines, Many dispersed sites, easy access, lotsa' people"

Access off of Lake Mary Rd is very easy, paved road that climbs a few hundred feet over the valley overlooking Lower Lake Mary. The road heading north towards Marshall lake turns to dirt- but it was quite smooth when I was there, straight up to... Read more

"Another free alternative to the Lakeview Campground"

Large flat area- plenty of room for a lot of RVs or Tents. 4 main areas to camp, although one is a bit close to the well-travelled dirt road, so you will hear the vehicles and get some dust. It's in the bottom of a gully, so perhaps less windy-... Read more

"Free alternative to the Lakeview Campground"

It's just a dispersed camping area right off Lake Rd where the AZ Trail crosses the 2wd dirt road. There is a defined car parking area for the trailhead, and then three other large areas that can handle pull-through, larger RVs, tents, a handful... Read more

"Overlooking, but not right on the water"

Paved, mostly smooth, somewhat curvy road to Parker Canyon Lake. The campground area is separated between a tent only area, on the two spurs to the left (as you enter), and the RV area on the right (east). Some of the spots will overlook the... Read more
