"Big Rigs Beware "

There are only four spots that can handle a large rig. Those are the ones to your left as you enter. I believe they are numbered 27-30. Then there is a camping loop if you continue down the road. That loop is not at all big rig friendly. I would... Read more

"Not Coming Back. "

It’s a beautiful, heavily wooded campground with a very helpful host. That’s about it though for the positives. If you have a big rig, forget it. Fine for a van or small travel trailer. Pads are small and most are crumbling. You share power... Read more

"Beautiful, but...."

Pros- Absolutely beautiful campground filled with mature trees right on a giant lake. Only 3 sites I saw weren’t directly on the lake. If you’re a boater you’re in luck. You can beach your boat in front of most sites. Some sites have their... Read more

"Trains and Traffic"

The good: $20 a night for FHU, open all winter long and great views right on the Mississippi River. The bad: Train tracks 50 feet from the campsite. There’s an unguarded crossing nearby so the trains are blasting their horns right as they go... Read more

Typical solid C of E campground. Quite a bit of road noise but it dies down at night. Super convenient to I-80. Train tracks nearby but it’s a very lightly used line so not an issue. Right on the Mississippi. Sites are laid out a bit awkward.... Read more

"Good but you better like trains. "

Clean and well maintained with FHU for $20 a night. 15 of 17 sites are pull through. Quite a few rigs with nobody occupying them. I grew up in a house right by train tracks so it really didn’t bother me, but the train traffic is significant.... Read more

"Nice Boondocking"

Beautiful mountain views right on the reservoir. Windy but that’s Wyoming. Two miles of rough gravel washboard to get in. Pretty clean. A few fire rings in spots. Anyone who’d rather park in a Walmart lot than boondock here needs their head... Read more
