We boondock a lot. Like, exclusively, and for the last two years now.
This location was one of the most amazing and magical spots that we have ever been to. Awful, awful access, but isn't that how it goes with locations like this?
This seemed to be the only logical location for boondocking outside of Sedona, at least that we found. We tried 525 Dispersed but that's pretty much large group sites and we typically like a more private setting.
Access was awful, but we took...
With the last review of this place a year ago, we were a little apprehensive about checking this place out, but it did not disappoint! There are quite a few places up and down this road with plenty of spurs to pull off and check out. We saw class...
This was one of the best locations we've ever stayed, and we boondock pretty much exclusively! Coconino Rim road is right off Desert View drive, and starts in the National Park. After a mile or so it crosses a cattle guard and you are in the...
Sometimes you just need a reset, and Lake Henry in Ordway, CO is the perfect place to do it!
After spending the last couple of months in the East in campgrounds, it was nice to “return to our roots” by boondocking!
There’s absolutely nothing...
The end of the road has barbed wire up now, so you can't make it to the reservoir. Henrys Lake IS open for dispersed camping.
With the last review of this place in 2019, we were a little apprehensive about boondocking here. The GPS coords in the description will land you in the right spot. We tried to head further North and up to the hill with views, but I almost got our...
At least the dump is on the ground! Fresh water on the side of the building. The one down at the Shell South on 97 sits a few inches off the ground. Rigs with low drains may have an issue there.
We stopped here on our way South.
There are signs everywhere that say "day use only" and "no camping". I'm not sure if those are new, but it certainly didn't stop 9 rigs from parking overnight.
The wind was pretty...windy, and the trains...
There's not a lot of accessible boondocking with internet access around GNP, but we made this spot work. We were gone most days, spending the majority of our time in GNP. Internet access here is very, very, very hit or miss. On the weekends it's...
