This is an old fashion forest service campground with a creek. Two loops. One has pit toilets one flush. It's a very nice campground BUT: The surrounding forest burned two years ago and is pretty bleak. It's 5 miles from the hwy on a rough... Read more

"Great free spot"

Nothing fancy, just a large open area with a vault toilet, but it's a convenient location and quiet.

"Great location"

Stayed in the dry camping area. Site pads are short, but trailer fit by overlapping the end with room for the pickup next to it. Full hook-up sites are longer. Nice table, fire pit, bbq. Shade structure. Clean restrooms. There are showers that... Read more

"A real Gem"

This is a fantastic park/campground on the Mattole river. The sites are huge, the park is clean, there are flush toilets and showers, and there is a huge lawn area to play in. The downside? - The roads leading to it are some of the worst in the... Read more

"Great location"

This campground has multiple loops, we were in the last loop. Gravel (dusty) roads and pads, fire pits, tables, pit toilets. The campground has flush toilets but they were closed with no explanation. We were in an RV, so no big deal, but for tent... Read more

"Very nice"

Lots of pine trees and shade, asphalt roads and pads, plenty of sites for our 25' TT. Friendly campers. Restrooms are closed, but they have porta potties and pit toilets. Tables and fire pits, water spigots, garbage. Far enough from the road that... Read more

"Nice in the off season"

This is on New Melones reservoir, a bureau of reclamation project. We were in Acorn campground, site 41, a tight pull-through. We paid $11, which is 1/2 the regular $22 since we have the lifetime senior access card. All sites are by reservation... Read more

"Pleasant"

This county park was a pleasant surprise. Only $12 if you are over 62, otherwise $18. Nice wooded setting, flush toilets, and a frisbee golf course. Close to Markleeville, Grover Hot Springs state park. There was even free wifi.

"Meh"

We stayed here 5 nights in July, 2020. It is conveniently located 10 miles from the east gate to Yosemite, and just a few miles from Mono lake. There is a rough gravel/asphalt road from hwy 120 to the campground, where the road turns to dirt.... Read more

"Wonderful"

This campground is one of the nicest forest service campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Paved roads and pads, water spigots conveniently spaced, clean flush toilets, a wonderful host. There is some road noise from 395, but not loud enough to be... Read more
