"Sweet BLM campground "

The road in is a little rutted but otherwise a scenic and easy route. Sites are sprinkled around a big loop with two separate vault toilets (completely barren of paper for our visit). We arrived at sunset for an epic vista of pink light hitting... Read more

"boondocking sites"

These are boondocking sites, not a campground. Not listed on the forest service website. There were a few people camping but most of the “sites” we found were occupied by unattended fifth-wheel campers, which felt creepy. Took us a while to find... Read more

"great with one little flaw"

This would be a 5 star park aside from one unfortunate issue. The park is beautiful and green, with glimpses of Lake Champlain from the campground and a fabulous view out at the point (also a great swimming spot). Sites are large and level. Loop 1... Read more

"lovely!"

What a lovely campground! Right on the water, perched on rocks, amazing sunset. Sites are small and closely packed but every one is looking at the views, not their neighbors. Probably best suited to tents and smaller campers. Our sprinter was... Read more

"Lovely park, crowded sites, close to town"

The campground is 10 minutes from downtown Ithaca, yet it’s quiet and hidden away from non-campers. The falls are beautiful. There’s a good trail system. The campsites are nearly all flat and have enough space for a van like ours, but any kind... Read more

"Nice lakeside stopover"

Driving in at dusk in a downpour, after striking out at a few other places, we weren't optimistic. The office was closed, too... so do we park it and settle up in the morning? Fortunately, the manager (owner?) ran out in a golf cart and helped... Read more

"Currently (March 2019) being used by FEMA - closed to travelers"

The tiny signs say it's closed but it's clearly occupied. A little research the next day and we learned FEMA is operating the place right now - I assume for fire refugees.
