The campground at Pony Express is limited to primitive camping only, and I would wager never full. The designated camping areas are split between two, one on the east side that has 10 campsites, and one on the west side that I didn’t see separate...

The first few moments of entering this campground will be some mobile homes, and other conveyances. It’s sort of nestled in a residential area of sorts. At first, we thought it was a bit sketchy, but once through the long term inhabitants, the...

We didn’t like the closeness of the neighbors, they were practically on top of us and the snoring woke me up several times. Another late night wake up was someone screaming “FIRE! FIRE!” at 2:00AM. We don’t know what the deal was but it pretty...

We couldn’t get a spot in the Park, so we felt a bit defeated and backtracked a bit to Demotte. In reality it was a blessing in disguise, we enjoyed our stay very much (although is was extremely cold that night 17°F). The entire campground was...

We tent camped in a spacious site under some cottonwood trees. Neighbors were far enough away to feel uncramped. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Facilities were clean and tended often.
Overall, a nice stay.
