"Spartan, but good for an overnight stop. "

The campground at Pony Express is limited to primitive camping only, and I would wager never full. The designated camping areas are split between two, one on the east side that has 10 campsites, and one on the west side that I didn’t see separate... Read more

"Kind of a weird little place, but nice. "

The first few moments of entering this campground will be some mobile homes, and other conveyances. It’s sort of nestled in a residential area of sorts. At first, we thought it was a bit sketchy, but once through the long term inhabitants, the... Read more

"Slim Pickings, but not many to pick from."

We didn’t like the closeness of the neighbors, they were practically on top of us and the snoring woke me up several times. Another late night wake up was someone screaming “FIRE! FIRE!” at 2:00AM. We don’t know what the deal was but it pretty... Read more

"Less crowds, more space."

We couldn’t get a spot in the Park, so we felt a bit defeated and backtracked a bit to Demotte. In reality it was a blessing in disguise, we enjoyed our stay very much (although is was extremely cold that night 17°F). The entire campground was... Read more

"Primitive, but enjoyable. "

We were with a large group and our site was a fantastic group site. Our tent site was tucked up into some cedars that afforded us some shade and privacy. From the group site, the restrooms were quite a ways away. The showers were operated by... Read more

"Not a great place, not a great experience. Strangers in our site. "

We’ve camped a lot across the nation, primarily out west, and this spot was probably the worst or I should say our least favorite spot we’ve stayed at. Being tent only on this trip, we decided to stay at one of the private campsites on the 4X4... Read more

"Pricey, but nice, good location. "

Unlike some of the other reviewers, our spot was very secluded and private. We camped at the tent only sites along Pueblo Road. The tent site was clean and not overgrown. No neighbors could be seen from our spot, but the only downside about being... Read more

"Spacious for a KOA"

We weren’t to enthused with the camping sites in Badlands Park, they were shadeless and very close to each other. We tried the very close by KOA and we are SO glad we did! We tent camped towards the back under the cottonwoods. The river was not... Read more

"Nice site, not the best amenities. "

One of the few places we could find to camp without reservations. Had to use the phone at the entrance and “reserve” a spot that day, also we were forced to pay via a credit card to make the same day reservation. We tent camped on the upper... Read more

"Spacious for an RV Park. "

We tent camped in a spacious site under some cottonwood trees. Neighbors were far enough away to feel uncramped. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Facilities were clean and tended often. Overall, a nice stay.
