"Enjoyable Experience"

We stayed here a couple times, the most recent being in 2021. The site we chose backs up to the Verde River, and was next to a cottage (that was empty) and another RV site on the other side. Being close to the river is wonderful. You can hear it... Read more

"Just OK - Expensive for what this is - No Hookups"

- This site backs up to the water (short walk down an embankment). - It is a BEAUTIFUL area, shaded sites. - No electric, water, or sewer hookups. - Water stations are near the bathrooms, and you could only fill water bottles. There was no way... Read more

"Spots fill up fast, washboard road is rough on campers"

We stayed along this road pretty much right at the entrance. Once we turned onto the road there is a large spot near a half circle of sycamore trees on the left - not far away from the staging area for OHVs. The tree has an active bee hive so be... Read more

"Quiet campground"

Very clean campground with only a few spots, so get there early. - $10 with an Annual "America the Beautiful" pass. - Water is available at the sites, however, they are quite a distance so a 25' hose will not do. Either get 50' or be prepared... Read more

"Peaceful at night, busy during the day"

The road was fine for our Subaru Outback and 17' camper - just take it slow. We had no trouble crossing the creek and getting down/up the hill. We didn't scout for a spot ahead of time and I didn't want to rattle the camper too much so we took the... Read more

"Great access to the dunes, nice back-in sites"

Back-in standard sites are nice, level, and are next to the dunes/vegetation (At least ours was Site#201). Pleasant views out the back and the campsite provides enough space on either side so you don't feel too cramped like most other California... Read more

"Quiet boondocking experience"

After reading the two other reviews I thought I'd give this a try being that I only live a hour or so away. 87 is fine for the most part as long as you take it slow. I traveled about 12 miles in during a lightning and hailstorm and called it quits... Read more

"A nice surprise!"

At first we were hesitant because we came in after dark and had some trouble finding the actual pads after we deposited our money in the mailbox. Through some stroke of luck we found the area. We chose a spot, got out, and were instantly happy... Read more

"Awesome park at a great value"

Private level sites, water/electric from what I remember, and clean bathhouse. Biking trail accessible close to site, and a lake where you can fish. Lots of wildlife. Only complaint is the refinery or some type of factory that's close by. Can... Read more
