US-90 ALT Picnic Area

While it was a free place to stay, it was so noisy with the constant traffic that it was impossible to sleep. It was a little creepy and run down also. A few other vehicles pulled in and I'm assuming they just stopped to pee in the woods. We would not stay here again.

I pulled in hauling a 29 foot travel trailer and no clearance issues. Parking is easy since it’s a pull through. I got about 50% signal on Verizon most the time, fast enough to stream 4K video. There’s far too much tree cover to use Starlink here. This was a great shady spot to beat the heat of the day (I’m visiting Texas in the summer) and I could run the generator late into the night because virtually no one is here other than me. People occasionally stopped by, but usually just to pee in the woods really quick before continuing along. If I find myself passing through this part of Texas again, I will stop here for sure! Perfect place for a simple overnight.
