We stopped at the local hardware store and asked around. They said the local water was not very good and we wouldn't want it for our potable water so be aware of that. We ended up going to Pearrygin Lake state park where you can enter for free using your Discover Pass that's already required for camping at Upper Bobcat. There's a dump station where you can fill up or you can use one of the spigots scattered around the campground.

The closest town is Winthrop. You may want to check with the local gas stations. Some may have potable water.
