The park has a number of different sections. I was in big Pine. Signage was fairly clear. I was in a pull through. I could walk down to the water and the hiking trail was within 100 feet of my space. They had a lot of rain and the site had a few limbs down. I definitely will come back here when I can stay longer.

We had so much fun, this place is very beautiful. I want to come back for a few more days! we were only here for a day. We were up high looking over the lake. Every tree was over 100 feet high. We stayed at a nonelectric site, but the area is so quiet!!

Very Nice East Texas State Park... I picked our site in Big Pine loop for tree opening to the north for StarLink as most sites have good tree coverage. Otherwise, I would prefer the Lakeview loop with sites on the lake. Very clean and spacious campground. Ready access to Tyler and the small cute Texas towns north of I-20.

Our site, LS 205, was an asphalt back in that was just long long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, water and sewer only) were poorly located to the left front and the sewer connection was not threaded. This site was so unlevel that our front wheels were off of the ground which made for a huge step to get in and out of our coach. The picnic table was so far away from our unit that we never considered using it. Distancing is fair for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Overall the park was unkempt. No attempt had been made to rake leaves in the sites. Mud and dirt ran over the paved pad.
The park included wifi was unusable. The signal was too weak to even connect. There is no cable TV but we did find OTA channels. Satellite might be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers.
There are trails within the park as well as Kayak and Canoe launch areas on site.
There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this to be a poor excuse for a camp site. We paid $44.00 per night and we feel we received very poor value. We will not be back.

We stayed in the LakeView Loop with amazing views. Site was easy to access and easy to level with our Anderson levels. We explored the beautiful hiking trails and rental a pedal boat to take out on the lake. All of the park staff and volunteers were extremely nice and helpful for us newbies! Perfect first trip despite leaking slides on our brand new RV. We will definitely be back!

I do wish the sites had a covered area over the table. However, that is not a big deal as almost everything is shaded.

The reservoir was a short walk away and we enjoyed being able to cool off in the water at a small beach away from the crowds by the visitor center/store.
It was busy, but not especially loud. Good for an overnight stop… we prefer more secluded spots for a longer stay.

We were looking for an overnight campground to relax and unwind. We arrived 3 hours before check in and were allowed to go straight to our camp. Our original reservation was unfortunately right next to a massive construction project where they’re building a new visitor center. This was not disclosed to us online or when we checked in. There was a construction worker at our picnic table when we drove up and the construction portable was the campground next door. Fortunately most of cedar point was empty so we called and moved further away. During the day we could still hear faint construction noises and some loud ones occasionally. My only affront was that I wish we had been made aware of the construction before driving to our site.
Aside from that, the hooks up were really convenient, our space was shady and even had some sun for our solar panels. The camp bathrooms were clean and accessible as was the dump station.
The lake was super desirable with temps at 103 and the convenient store on site was very nice.
