Site 98 was not direct waterfront, but it was close to level and within view of beautiful mountains and just 50 yards from the water. Bathrooms were clean, and this is the first time I've seen a bathroom that had a separate area to dump a cassette toilet, which is great. No showers, but we drove into East Glacier to Brownie's to do laundry and get a hot shower for $7. My 10 year old son LOVED the campfire circle talk about mountain goats at the Two Medicine campfire circle.
We had terrible weather here - first wildfire smoke, and the next day gloom, rain, and then a deluge - but we still enjoyed the place. We took the boat ride to the other side of Two Medicine and hiked up to Twin Falls in the pouring rain. Still fun. Thanks to a ranger for the warnings about the hydrologic outlet and weather event.
We saw a black bear on the mountain one morning and another black bear close to us on the road out of the campground. Mountain goats walked right into our campsite several times.
There is a great campground store near the Two Medicine boat dock. The boat ride is well worth the price, especially if you get a nice day. The hike to Twin Falls on the other side was easy.

Off season rates reduce to $10/night ($5 senior pass). All facilities are closed except for one pit toilet. We had site #1 which is the only site with unobstructed views of the lake. The campground is nice and surrounding fall colors make the lake shine. Good hiking too! Lake has been closed to public watercraft for several years due to staff shortages for watercraft inspections.
The road (MT 49) into the park from the north is winding and narrow with steep dropoffs. We navigated it fine in our 25 foot motorhome. 49 going south to East Glacier is easier to drive.
Another great place in Glacier National Park!!!

This is the perfect campground for those who want to get away from it all. Not as convenient for visiting the rest of Glacier NP. We stayed here after spending 3 days in Apgar on the West Side, and on our way to St Mary’s campground. Sites for big rigs are available, but limited. We were not lucky enough to get one of the open sites near the lake. We arrived camped on a Thursday which for some reason was very busy, we arrived at 11:30am and it was almost full. The few spots left were very tight for our 25 ft airstream. We had to adjust and readjust to make it fit. I had sporadic Verizon coverage when I walked down to the lake. It was very confusing to find. Our gps kept warning us about a 21ft limit on the road in, and wanted to reroute us, but the campground road turnoff is before the restricted road area. We were there in mid September and it was very windy. A nice getaway spot, if you want to do things in the Two Medicine area, but too far to access other areas of the park.

This is first come first served so you have to come early and “stalk” a site. No reservations here.

I wish someone would have told us that this campground is closed in May. We drove all the way here only to turn around and go stay in a (ugh!) RV park. Also several people said that they would fit larger rigs, but clearly the sign going in says nothing larger than 21’. Get your information correct.
