“Nice free spot in Land Between the Lakes”

Mid May. Tent camping for a night. The natural area between the lakes (LBL) here is unique and very nice scenery and got good weather. This campground is a first come first serve site, close to Moss Creek day use area. Head over to the information center close to RT 68 if you want to learn more about the entire area. I was surprised at the many many options for camping in this area. There are also paid spots close by but this location was fine. There was no problems and no noise, everyone kept to themself. Seemed like a place for long term campers and early morning working folks as well. Just find an open spot and setup. The bugs not as bad during this time of year while so close to water. There may be few trash items on ground but there are dumpsters and toilets. Had a nice chat with a Paducah man how lived there for a few months after his divorce. The roads into here are better than other roads in this area. There was some roads on the east side of LBL after a storm a week earlier. An RV should be able to fit in here as there's RV campers parked in the back spots.

“Beautiful place, but trashy and noisy”

I was so excited to go to Land Between the Lakes. For $10, you can stay 3 nights in any of the self service and dispersed campsites. I spent most of my time filling trash bags with campsite trash that had been dumped. At night, bow fishermen flooded the camp with lights until about 4 am. It made me sad that this is what folks do.
