Decent spot with ATT & limited Verizon connection. Virgin River (tiny) runs right through the canyon. Soft sand if you get off a main trail. Drive back to the corral or beyond (don't try to go into the immediate field off the road... sand will eat all unless 4x4 w/ some clearance. Quiet at night even with highway next door (not ... more

“Convenient location, but busy and next to the hwy”

Reviewed Sep 25, 2018

Overall Rating

The turn is a little hard to see a night, but if you follows others directions, it is right off the hwy once you make the turn. The location is convenient, not far from the eastern Zion entrance, down the street from a good breakfast place we ate at in the morning, and right off the hwy. Camping out of a small sedan the roads were a li... more

Arrived Wednesday 5/16/18, left Friday 5/18/18 Elevation 5105 We were glad to have arrived early afternoon, since most spots were already taken and more campers arrived after us. Number of sites states 5, but the areas are large, and when we were there, sites were being shared. There was a tent camper at the site we chose, but th... more

“Great spot!”

Reviewed May 06, 2018

Easy to find and a little less than 1/2 a mile - going north, from 9the junction for rte 9 toward Zion. Some dust traffic on weekend from dirt bikes and buggy's but other than that a quiet location with several nice spots. Be sure to visit the "Belly of the Dragon" cave which is about 1/4 mile from the turnoff on the left side of the... more

This was a great place to stay. There are only 5 spots (3 are large enough for two campers) they are all large with easy access. They all stayed full the whole time we were there. There are alot of ATVs during the day causing dust but it's nice and quite at night. A short drive to Zion and a about 30 min from Kanab with all the suppli... more

“Nice spot, but could be busy with hunters in fall”

Reviewed Mar 12, 2018

Overall Rating

There is a limited number of spots on this road. We arrived on a Sunday and managed to snag the last site alongside the river. Aside from some trash, it was a nice spot. What we didn't realize was that hunting season had just started and most of the people on the road where hunters. Soon after arrival, a guy came by on his ATV to warn ... more

I needed a spot I could work from for a day and this fit the bill. I had 5 bars AT&T with speed. The spot was easy to get to and right along the river. There was a lot of OHV traffic (some very fast = dusty). A few Duck Dynasty types slowed WAY down and gawked the whole way past - must be hunting season... Woke to a movie set ge... more

“Easy access, quiet site in Virgin canyon”

Reviewed Oct 06, 2017

Overall Rating

Right turn off 89 on dirt road just south of Junction City. Site required some clean-up, nice and level spot, very quiet. Sites along Virgin River were taken, but found pleasant site near trees. Glad to have good sleeping bag; warm day but 25 last night. Comfortable stop between Zion and North Rim.

Easy to find. Well maintained dirt road. Sites were mix of sand and gravel. Creek was flowing with just enough water to bath in.

GPS coordinates take you to end of campground. Entrance is the dirt road just after the guardrail for the creek.
