Campground on noisy road, no access to lake unless you drive, bathrooms old but clean, very nice host and staff.

We arrived in camp after driving through hours of heavy rain. The trailer pad appeared to have been repaired numerous times and left no room for error - without good aim we would’ve been in need of a toll as it was a very steep drop off. Other than that though it was a beautiful spot overlooking the Neosho river. The site had both water and electric and was very level in spite of the patches. The next morning when the rain stopped we are able to take a walk and look around, even though it was pretty empty due to it being very early in the season we could tell we would definitely like to come back again.

It was an overnight stop on our way north east via highway 44, and that's all it had to be. We were almost all by ourselves, campground was almost empty on August 1st 2021.
This place would be nice if it wasn't for the road that passes in the middle - it's not a park road, it's a regular road with cars and trucks that drive by fast.

This is a delightful park! Situated high on the bluffs above the confluence of the Spring and Neosho rivers. The sites are adequately spaced, all cement, essentially flat and level with 30 amp power and water at all the upper campsites (Gopher Valley, Echo Hollow, Eagle Bluff). The sites at the lower (Anglers Paradise) area where the boat ramp is located have 50 amps. Highway 137 runs through the upper camping areas and deadends at Highway 60 which is where the twin bridges are located. Traffic might be an issue during busier months so I definitely go for the sites further back in the three upper loops. If coming from the northwest on 137, the camp host and camp office are on the left and clearly marked, pretty much right across the highway from an OK State Park ranger station. With the trees pretty bare this time of year the views of the river(s) were terrific. The showers were closed but bathrooms open, water and electric on. The online reservation system requires a 5-day advance and a two-day minimum. Otherwise, just show up (the place was empty this week) and the campground host will stop by to collect the fee. Part of the upper camping area is closed for the annual Lights in the Park display, drive-through only and free, but donations accepted - simple but charming. T-Mobile has really improved their coverage...4-5 bars outside.

You’ll want to turn in where it says office and there is a pull through driveway. Be aware, if you’re driving in the fall, this park was full of leaves which makes it difficult to navigate the roads.
We requested a pull through site with 30 amp. The electricity was good, our surge protector delayed it a bit, but then everything was green to go. Water pressure was okay, not the best.
The view is beautiful, the pull out spots are at the top of the over look to the river. It’s very nice.

AT&T was the best carrier with usable speeds in the 2-3 Mps up & down.
Verizon & T-Moble were not usable.
