We had a perfect campsite with a great forest view. We had either a single doe or a doe and fawn visiting our site most of the days we were there. Very tranquil and relaxing!
There is no checking in necessary. You simply drive directly to your campsite.
We came prepared for pay showers based on a previous review only to find that the showers are actually FREE now. They have a simple 5 minute mechanical timer that you can rotate to activate the shower, but no coins are required. Beware that the water temperature starts out fairly cold and can turn very hot before settling on a lukewarm temperature. The showers were clean and well maintained. Bring a mirror if you like to shave or you can use the mirrors and sinks in the toilets.
Firewood is sold on premise during the hours of 3:30 and 4 pm each day. With an arrival time of 3 pm (or later), that gives a person little time to get firewood on your first night of arrival. So plan accordingly or be prepared to not have a campfire on your first night.
The Twin Bridge Ski Team is just down the road from the campground and performs on Thursday and Saturday evenings. There were no markings to find the actual entrance to the ski show area, so we had to do a lot of searching to find it. I think it turned out to be the first right past the boat landing when going south on Boat Landing #3 road.
There is a nice supper club just outside of the campground that is actually within walking distance. We gave them some business on the night of our arrival and the food was really good.
We had a solid two bars of Verizon cell phone coverage and could stream data reliably when we needed to. There are big rig friendly campsites that can be found.

This is one of two “modern” campgrounds in Marinette County. The other being Morgan Park in Pembine. We like this one equally!
There are three loops. The Overlook Loop is well shaded and right in the entrance of the park. Some sites in that loop are smaller and not level, but most are ok. The Inlet Loop is the farthest from the lake and bathhouse, also the sites are not the most level sites. The Plateau Loop is where we stayed. Although it’s not as shaded, the sites are generous, flat, and well spaced. We were here in the fall though so in the direct sun in June and July, your mileage may vary. All sites are electric only, most 20/30 amp. Unsure if there is 50 amp service.
Bathhouse is modern. Flush toilets and seven private shower stalls. Be advised, the showers are pay showers ($1 for 4 minutes…which is ridiculous if you ask me) so bring your quarters. Laundry facilities are also available: two washers and two dryers.
Lake is a good distance away from all sites except the Overlook Loop so be prepared to either drive or expect a longer walk. But there is a nice playground as well as a swim beach and a dog beach. Always nice to have a dog beach.
This park is in the middle of nowhere, however, there are several supper clubs nearby. Also a Mobil gas station and Dollar General only 3 miles away for things you may have missed. ATV trails right outside of the park. Appx. 20 minutes from Crivitz, 1 hour from Iron Mountain.
All in all, if you’re looking for a nice simple campground with access to many outdoor opportunities, this is a good one for you!

“We enjoyed the access to high falls lake ”

The county park is very well maintained. The sites are well spaced and several have direct access to the inlet off of high falls lake. There is a great beach area directly on the lake. We fished and kayaked while there.

Campfire wood is sold onsite between 3:30 and 4 pm. 2023 price is $5 for a bundle or $10 for a wheelbarrow.
