It was a short walk to the river from our site. you could go for a long, lovely walk without leaving the campground. Or, take a wagon ride with the Clydedales! Play mini golf, use the slip and slide, play badminton or volleyball.
This campground just outside of Brandon attracts day users, but as a camper, you have access to all the amenities. The fountain has water slides, water jets, a floating platform, and you can rent SUP and other floating things. The fountain is natural, containing small fish and snails. I found myself wondering how water leaves the fountain, as in how water gets refreshed. Some of it goes over the concrete edge and pools at the lawn. The water looked extremely "natural," but that didn't stop me from floating in a tube on a hot summer day.
Extra information of note which I report not as something negative or positive, just the facts. They've located burial sites on the campground grounds from when an Indian residential school operated in Brandon. Mark tells his whole story on the campground website, and the exact location isn't used for camping, but close by is. Meanwhile, we saw First Nations people coming as day visitors to enjoy the park. So do with that what you will. Our North American past complicates the present.

The previous review detailed all there is to do so I will not repeat. We stayed 1 night in route. We were here the last of May so near the end of the spring season. The sites are gravel. The gravel in many of them was broken up and loose probably from the spring thaw. They were still usable. I would guess they will get packed down as the season progresses. There are privacy fences between the sites. It appears they are continually improving the grounds. We enjoyed our stay.

This riverside campground itself is well kept and maintained with all your standard amenities and more. The swimming "pond" keeps the kids busy and cool as well as so many other games like Mini-Golf, Frisbee Golf, Horseshoes, the inflatable Slip "n" Slide, nets for Badminton and Soccer, A petting zoo with morning feeding times, an indoor games room for bad weather days that can also be rented out for events. Events is another thing Turtle Crossing has going for it as well, weekend dance nights, youth activity days with contests and games and so much more. Washroom building with free hot showers, coin laundry, ice and firewood sales as well as a snack bar for treats.
Close to Brandon as well as the outlet area consisting of Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot etc. This truly is a gem within the area and definitely a friendly welcoming spot for everyone, especially families with kids.
