This was a lovely campground. Very clean and kept up. The site we were in was a large pull through, with a nice plastic picnic table. We had full hookups, that worked great. We did 8 loads of laundry, as we had been camping without water and sewer for 2 weeks. We had a great view of the little pond, and a rose garden right beside us. Now for the sad part... Since the hurricanes, they have had terrible internet service in the area. Even with boosters and antenna, we couldn't upload or download, and my husband works full time from our RV. This just wouldn't work for us. We were so bummed. The owners, James and Debra were so kind and helpful. They totally understood our predicament, and were going to let us leave with paying only one night of our 8 day reservation. We said we wouldn't do that as we had done so much laundry, and came to an agreement that was fair to everyone. That evening we got a knock on the door, it was James, he wanted to tell us he was going to bring us breakfast in the morning. He did, and it was wonderful. Cheese biscuits and a delicious big link of sausage. If you want a place to just go and relax, throw a line in the pond and visit with lovely people, this is your place. They are very strict on no drinking or partying. "This is a family place." We hated to leave, but we had no choice.

Called two days ahead and got a site for the weekend. Arrived on Friday evening around dinner time. This campground is a bit off the beaten path down some country roads and past a small neighborhood of trailer homes. You go over a few speed bumps in the gravel road approaching it. When I pulled up, I was met by James Corbett the owner who gave me a choice of the first two sites on the left. We opted for site 2, which is the first one, mostly level and facing the small pond at the entrance. The sites are all crushed gravel, hard packed, mostly level and the hookups we're fairly modern. We really enjoyed our stay, the campground is nice and quiet. The bath house showers and bath rooms were all very clean and have a washer and dryer as well. Firewood is provided at the campsites! We used this camp as a basecamp to visit the Tryon Palace in New Bern (20 min) and Fort Macon State Park at the beach (1 hr). On Sunday morning, James brought some breakfast over ( some cheesy biscuits and sausage). He told us to take our time, no rush leaving. Check out is 1, but he said we could stay longer. He came back by later to talk with us some more and sent us home with an ice cold watermelon too! This campground doesn't have a lot of extra amenities, but it is cheap at $35 a night for full hook ups, there are some nice shady sites towards the back too. James was as nice as could be, great host / owner, went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I will give fair warning however, he is a talker.

Very quiet, very well maintained. Shaded, well separated sites. The folks here go the extra mile. Wood for fire pit provided. Hook-ups functioned well.

This is a beautiful little campground that is very well maintained and extremely quiet. The sites are quite large and have full hookups with 50 amp service. The owner was very helpful and accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. This made an excellent base for exploring historic New Bern and Fort Macon, and for hiking in the Croatan National Forest, Goose Creek State Park, and Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. It’s only an hour to the beaches.

We were scrambling a bit after being evacuated from a North Carolina state park because of the coronavirus closures. But we're almost glad we left because this place was nicer.
Very quiet. We only had a couple neighbors in the whole campground and rarely saw them. We spent time out by the fire. We went fishing. Great place to relax and get caught up on work.
When we arrived there wasn't an office or any formal way to checkin, but the owner had told us on the phone to park in spot 3 and then the camp host came by in his golf cart later that evening to collect payment and have us sign a paper.
They provide free firewood (super nice touch!) and restocked the next morning after we burned up several logs.
Verizon service was a little slow but doable for streaming. AT&T was good.
