We got back a little later from exploring so that really limited us! Otherwise it has all the hot water you could need and plenty of clean space to get clean. Flat sites. About 4-6mbps t-mobile download for meetings.

This campground is EXTREMELY clean! Earl the campground host was super friendly. Our site was level with easy access.
We traveled there 2/28/22 and even though it’s still “winter”, the grounds were about half full. Even with that, it was very quiet.
Restrooms were very clean and heated, with outlets.

Great campground for both tents and trailers. We stayed in the tent only section of the campground, the A Loop, with some of the sites backing up to the Deschutes River. There are a few sites that have private trails down to the river with grassy spots to hang out by the water. We camped in both A092 and A087. Both are large sites with a small trail to the water. There is a small bathroom with flush toilets on this loop. If you walk up to B and C loop you’ll find more toilets, along with showers and a washing station. Across the street from the park is the day use area which has lots of picnic tables and access to the river. It is a fantastic spot to launch inner tubes. Also the trailhead for the Deschutes River trail can be found in this area. There is a cool metal bridge the stretches along the part of river. With the city of Bend and the impressive Tumalo Falls close by, the campground is a great location.

The only disappointment for us in regards to Tumalo, is that at the campground, there are few areas to actually access the river. There is a lovely park across the road with a few access areas. The showers and bathrooms at this park were the best! Good job Oregon State Parks! We wouldn't stay here again only because it's very hard to get reservations.

This is a popular state park, so plan ahead if you want to stay here. $21 + $8 Reservation Fee
Due to COVID, camping A Loop was closed.
Pros: setting, spacing between sites, trails, nice camp hosts, and nice showers
Cons: a little road noise, being hard to get reservations due to being popular.

We had no service most of the time, and a couple bars long enough for e-mails and texts to pop through every once in a while..... unfortunately one of those times was around 3 am. Amazing how much light those screens put out when its pitch black in the trailer. At first it was an annoyance, but pretty quickly was appreciated for providing a weekend unplugged.

We took advantage of unseasonably warm weather (over 30 degrees in December?) and stayed at Tumalo State Park so we'd be near friends staying in Sisters. It proved to be a fantastic home base for winter hiking and snowshoeing at the various Sno-Parks around the Sisters Wilderness and Mount Bachelor. The sites were spread-out with plenty of room, and the park itself is lovely and situated right on the Deschutes River. We spent most of our time exploring the mountains nearby but did take one hike along the river from our RV site. Definitely recommend, and I'm sure we'll be back! Cell reception was slow/spotty with Verizon - able to send and receive texts but not much else.

Stayed here for a few nights so we could visit Bend area breweries. Park is conveniently located and has a nice trail along the Deschutes River. The park was almost completely full when we arrived, mostly RVs who looked like they'd been there a while plus one group camping in tents, but it cleared out on our last night, probably because the night before got down to 23F. All the sites have full hookups, but we didn't connect to the water on account of the cold temps.
Sites are pretty open without much for trees - this is the high desert, after all. Our site had quite a bit of juniper growing in and around it, which I didn't realise was so proliferous here. Since I'm quite allergic, it was a bit problematic. The sites are almost all back-ins and several are at a really bad angle, nearly perpendicular to the road. Even the ones at a more gentle 45 degree angle like ours was can be very difficult to back into with a trailer since there are large rocks on the opposite side of the narrow roadway, making it impossible to pull forward to straighten out. If we stay here again, we'll definitely bring a trailer valet to get into our site.
