Gorgeous area. Good location to hood river and the like.
Good signal with just about any carrier. No road noise, but expect somebody somewhere to run a generator.

It literally is a giant airstrip (although I wouldn't land a plane on it) full of rock and obstacles but easy enough to drive around.
We entered and found our spot along the treeline within seconds of driving in. We didn't even have to take our tow vehicle off the dolly until we were parallel parked. There are fire rings, so once we got set up, we went out and enjoyed a fire for the evening.
The next day we hike some great areas on Mount Hood. Lots of places to hike and just plink around locally.
I did set my alarm on (and in) my RV and locked my tow dolly to the bumper. Some campers looked a little shady but never bothered us. We enjoyed our two nights here but moved on once we did our hikes.
No services - used our generator and brought our own water.

Awesome area with great hiking/biking trails. Views of Mt. Hood are fantastic. Really enjoyed the time here, beautiful scenery. Great cell signal as well. Only negative I found was it’s a little dusty, just comes with the territory.

I’d say there’s over 30+ spots carved and and probably 15 would fit large rigs!
Seems to be pretty popular spot with the locals - very close to the lake which is beautiful!
Definitely has more of a “party crowd” - wouldn’t call it the most family friendly atmosphere or popular camping spot. (Quite time started at 10pm and music blared from multiple directions until then.)
We didn’t leave anything out while we’re gone - didn’t give that safe family oriented vibe some other spot do!
Rangers do seem to ride by once or twice a day which is nice!
Lots of people letting their dogs roam wherever they pleased if you have pups id keep that in mind! ☺️
Overall we’d come back and stay a night or two if needed! Not our favorite boondocking but accessibility wise definitely better than most!

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel and long bed pickup. This was my first experience with dispersed camping and it was not a great one due to rude and inconsiderate people. I know what proper boondocking etiquette is, but other people did not. One older camper came in and parked their trailer (which could have been a stand in for Walter White’s rig in Breaking Bad) and parked 12’ from me. Their windows were all covered and they left the generator running day and night without being around the trailer. Very strange. A large group of people crowded into a space across the clearing from me and decided to play music very loudly all night for multiple nights. I woke up several times and it was going until 7 am the next day. The heavy base made the dishes in my sink rattle. I did not approach them about it due to concerns about an unfavorable reaction. As other reviews have stated, this is a very dusty camping area which was made worse by people barreling through it. If you went slow, you wouldn’t kick up as much dust to blow on other people. It is a good place for larger rigs. I had no trouble getting into a nice spot and there were multiple other 30’+ rigs there as well. If I was coming back to the area, I would go across Perry Vickers Road where there are sites big enough for larger trailers, you just have to know which entrance to take to get to them (about mid-way across from Trillium Airstrip.) It is a popular place since you can easily hike to Trillium Lake. There is also tons of good hiking in the Mt. Hood area.

Lots of space. We were here on a Wednesday in August and there were about 10 other campers. Decent T-mobile. About a 2 minute drive to the lake.

We stayed here 3 nights.
A few neighbors ran their generators all night long! There are no quiet hours.
Very crowded and dusty. Every time someone drive through, you will get a dust storm, regardless how slow someone drive. On a positive note, you can hike to Trillium lake within 1.5m one way.

We just biked through a couple miles down to the strip and campground. There are quite a few down trees from a recent storm. There are crews cleaning up now, but I surmise it'll be at least two weeks before this area is open for boondocking.
In the meantime you can overnight at any of the Snoparks in the area.
