“Access to OHV trails and Mt Buckeye hiking”

Overall Rating

This area stems from the parking lot entry for the OHV trails for Mt Zion and Mt Buckeye and would be a great camping spot for those who offroad.

The entrance can hold a large travel trailer or fifth wheel.

Once past the entrance smaller travel trailers with good clearance can access about 5 sites before the gate. Please note that to turn a trailer you must use the sites so be sure to scout first.

Finally there are some 4x4 trails leading to the left and right of the main area. The roads are well maintained once on the mountain side, but the beginning is a bit dicey. We were able to maneuver our F250 in 4x4 up the road, but it was difficult. A Jeep would have no issue. There are multiple tent sites along the road as it climbs to Mt Zion. Please note the seasonal area closure for elk past the gate.

Zero Verizon service at the entry. Spotty coverage as you ascend the OHV trail.

3 stars given as area did have quite a bit of litter.
