Tower Rock U-Fish RV Park

Tower Rock U-Fish is well off the beaten path. You have a 15, or so, mile drive from Randel. Follow the signage at Randel that guides you to camp Cispus, follow that and you will get to Tower Rock U-Fish without issue. I'll cover GPS misdirection in a bit.

They have a large mix of sites, full hookup, partial hookup, tent. They have a dump station there, too. The office is a little duplex right off the main road. They watch for new arrivals and greet you as you arrive. They will guide you to your site, and the gentleman that runs the place will want to help you back into your site. He is pretty good at giving directions for backing in. Sites do not have number posts, but are delineated by power posts, water risers, and sewer ports. A broad group of sites types means that group camping and individual camping is possible. My camping party had 3 sites together on the far west end of the property, laid out kind of like flower petals connected to a stem, which was great for having a communal fire pit and group cooking.

There is no cell service at that location, but during our visit they had just installed Starlink. If you were close enough to the Starlink base station you got excellent Internet, and Wi-Fi calling was possible. I couldn't quite identify where the Starlink base was located, however it seemed to be more centralized on the property, not out where we were camping. They kept emphasizing that they were working on installing Wi-Fi repeaters so that more of the park would be covered. I look forward to that outcome.

30 amp power is the max available. The power post was in good shape, and the breakers were tight, the 30 amp outlet was a little loosey goosey. My onboard autoformer indicated a number of incidence of voltage dip that required boosting. The park wasn't super busy when we were there, but with three of us so close together, I suspect that we were all on the same circuit and their electrical setup isn't built to provide full voltage during periods of high demand.

Watch your GPS for misdirection. My GPS put me on the road to Mt. St. Hellens NFD25, and then directed me to NF76, which is 5 miles of single lane, paved, but washboardy and bouncy road that follows the Cispus river. NF76 is totally inappropriate for any kind of motorhome or RV, so be aware of where you need to make your turnoff to go the normal route to this location. Coming from Randel, you will veer left onto Cispus road, after you cross the bridge in Randel. Stay on Cispus road until you get to the park. There is signage along Cispus road put up by Tower Rock U-Fish telling you how far you have to go and marking important turns. Google maps routes you correctly there.

The facilities are quaint and clean. I didn't take in the restrooms, but I understand they were well maintained. The family that has been running this place for years seems to really know what they are doing. This is a great place to get away from it all.

Nothing super fancy about this place it's just done very well. We were greeted when we pulled in and checked on a couple times a day. They have full hookup sites, tent, and everything inbetween. We saw a couple large toy haulers so any size rig should fit. We stayed on Memorial day weekend 2020 while pandemic was going on. The family running the place has been doing it along time. I remember going there 20+ years ago with my parents and it still seems the same. The office is in the little duplex on the right as you pull in the driveway door on the left. The U fish trout pond had been drained while we were there. We didn't have any Verizon or AT&T signal but that's pretty normal when out in national forest. There are ATV trails in the area so you hear the occasional dirt bike but nothing constantly.
