“Pretty, Quiet, and Interesting”

The Toquima Cave Campground is located at the northern end of Nevada’s Toquima Mountain Range. There seems to be a number of dispersed sites under pine and pinyon trees, suitable for tents, truck campers, or small trailers. Leveling may be difficult. There are picnic tables and stone fire rings under many of the trees. There is a restroom with a vault toilet. I didn’t see any fees associated with the campground. There are no water or garbage services available. Just outside the entry is a large area with a large rock fire ring suitable for larger rigs or a group.
What is interesting is the cave that can be found at the end of an easy 1/2 mile trail. The entry to the cave has been gated and locked to prevent graffiti and vandalism, but you can easily look through and see a myriad of interesting pictographs left by ancient peoples. There are numerous rock outcroppings in the area and pretty views along the trails.

Rustic campground with no amenities other than a pit toilet. Campsites not well marked. Campground quite rocky and not level. Beautiful and very quiet. Short trail leads to petroglyphs. No cell service. The dirt road is fairly well maintained.
