“An ideal campground”

I camp here, midweek, every June. Unless you’re right up near a holiday, it is never full. Relatively quiet except for the adjoining gravel road which has maybe two cars an hour.

Graded gravel road to get here and that keeps the idiots out.

Clean pit toilets, trash cans close by, water close by (with threaded faucet so that you can refill your tank).

Daytime presence of Fisherman, fish *catching* rumored.

American White Pelicans large enough to swallow small children whole are common.

“Great dry camping site”

It’s a dirt road driveway from Highway 66 to the campground, not the best condition, but take your time and it’s doable. The small campground is paved, a little tight, but we didn’t struggle, and neither did the triple axle 5ers who showed up after we did. There are 3 or 4 spaces right on the water which are popular, but it isn’t any distance from any of the sites to the boat dock. Plenty of trees for shade coverage, clean pit restrooms and a dump station by the exit.
Overall, we thought it extremely pleasant, quiet and very relaxing with plenty of trails to hike/atv etc. Full LTE service with US Cellular.

“Still closed for the season 5/9/23”

noted 5/12/2023

We arrived late at night hoping for a place to stay, and they (along with all the others in the area) were still closed for the season.
