Tompkins Recreation Area Campground

We had a wonderful time at Tompkins Campground COE. Let's get the negative out of the way. Our site was a little hard to get into. It was plenty big but had a steep upward grade into the site. We didn't drag though and the site was level once in. On the plus side it was a huge site, our 42' 5th-wheel fit with room to spare. The park itself is beautiful and in a great setting in northern PA. We didn't use the restrooms or shower so we can't comment on them but we heard from family that they were clean.

For those coming in with big rigs we recommend coming in from the PA side and driving the long way around the park. Also, pay attention to the site size, not all will accommodate big RVs. T-Mobile worked somewhat. ATT and Verizon not so much.

Lovely COE park. Nice, shaded, level lot across the road from the water. This is a very nice COE park. There are multiple loops but the BENC loop is the only one on the water with FHU. We camped here in 26’ TT. Enough space to park TT and F350 on site. Honestly cannot remember our cell coverage which means it must have been good. We have Verizon and ATT. Would love to stay here again. Rate is with Senior discount.

Knoll loop sites 1-11 are in the woods. Others vary. Bench loop 37-55 by the lake, most, have full hookups. Cove loop 56-86 are mostly electric. Meadow loop A-X are for tents. Plenty of boat ramps and places to park boats on the water or parking lots. Front gate manned during the day only. Cell service sporadic, internet almost nonexistentant. Couple shops and restaurants in only 4 miles away. Kayak rentals on south shore just opposite the campground on rt 49...south shore access point.
