Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area Campground

Tipsaw has turned into a major campgrouind with lots of sites, many electric, some with water too. The sites are good size and well separated in the larger family campgound, but we stayed in the RV campground with only three other campers and the host present. RV sites are larger and more open and have both water and electric, both 30 and 50 amp. Nice campground with one big problem. The lake is one large mud hole. Impossible to fish and I don't see how beach goers could swim in there. There is one hiking trail. Hunting may be the main recreation at this area. It is not far from Interstate 64 but the Hoosier National Forest has another campground at Celina and Indian Lake Recreation just a few miles up the road and closer yet to I64. Lakes there are usable and decent fishing. Lots of trees, so don't plan on using your satellite dish. I tried it, got a satellite but never got a picture. Decent cell phone reception for Fire Stick TV but it runs up a big data use bill. We watched about two hours and used 4 gb. $20 rate is with senior pass!
