We already had a site reserved so we did not need to go to a ranger station, we just checked in with the camp host. The sites are very large with massive picnic table and fire ring. There was a burn ban when we were there. No hookups. Vault toilets, a pump for water. Lovely river with some nature walks, some sites had direct access to the river. The access road has pretty low traffic level, so it was possible to take nice walks on the road itself with our dogs. It is close to I90, which is actually above the camp, so there was highway noise, even at night. I didn't find it bad, but then I usually sleep with ear plugs in a camp ground anyway. Signal was so spotty we entertained ourselves by playing cards and listening to music from usb stick. I don't know if we will ever go that far from home again, but I would definitely stay there if I were in that area.

Nice place. They cleaned it up recently. The road in was repaired. Pretty smooth for a gravel road. Campsites are clean with bear boxes at each site. It's no longer a pack it, pack it out campground. They have trash dumpsters next to each bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again. AT&T had 3 bars.

“Too Small For 40+ Foot RV’s. ”

Narrow dirt road with pot hole spots and snow run off across same road. I should not have gone in there with 22’ truck and 30’ trailer. Was able to turn around. But advise smaller class B or C only.

The trees are beautiful (although they do reduce/eliminate solar power options.) There is a short nature trail right off the campground that is very pretty. The vault toilets are reasonably clean. As stated in other reviews, the interstate noise is constant. Personally it didn’t bother us, it felt more like white noise. Cell signal wasn’t stellar, but it was enough that I was able to use my phone as a hotspot and log in to work for a bit.
The biggest drawback by far is the access road from the freeway to the campground. It’s as bad as indicated in other reviews, and well over a mile of it. The potholes are INSANE. If you are tent camping or in a small rig you’ll be fine. If you’re in something bigger, plan for a sloooow ride in.

The road is quite damaged from potholes so take your time in bigger rigs not to jostle everything around.
Pit toilets, trash dumpsters, and There’s delicious drinking water from a hand pump onsite too. Lots of trash in our campsite, always a bummer but we try to leave it better than we found it.
Wish we had more time to hang and explore!

As you pull in there’s a board with information on it. You’ll need to take an envelope and fill it out. Then you’ll drive around to find an empty site. Also, sites with an “R” on their post means they’re reserved. Nightly rate for us in a van the night before last (8/21/18) was $18. The campground goes in a circle then a road off of it all with campsites attached and all with a picnic table, fire ring, and space for tents. The campground and campsites were very clean and well kept. The sites are nicely spaced, very woodsy sites. Our campsite was clean other than a few tiny pieces of trash here and there I cleaned up. There are vault toilets and a dumpster. There is at least one trail I saw that goes into the forest. And one small trail going to the river that I saw. Folks were friendly.

Our 27' airstream fit nicely into the level and easy to get into spot. Downfalls are the horribly pot-holed road to get there (really shook up our airstream) and the constant road noise you get from the highway that runs between the mountains.
