We stayed at Tin Can en route to Whitefish, MT. A small camp ground off of the side of the road. Despite its proximity to the road, it was very quiet. Short walk to a beautiful, clean river. It’s a hidden gem, especially for those who love to fly fish. No hookups, no service, no problem- a place to be in nature. Would absolutely return.

We tent-camped here in July of 2015. It was a great little campground. No host, just a Ranger checking on us every day or two. Vault toilets were a bit 'rustic', as in smelly, otherwise it was a very nice campground. It was right on the St. Joe river which had great fly fishing upstream or down. There was a fire ban at the time so looking for firewood was not an issue. Our tent site was level, clean, had a table and fire ring. There were open camp sites the week we stayed there. We'd stay there again.
