Tillicum Beach Campground

3 different sites during our 5 night stay.... TOTALLY WORTH IT.

We stayed our first two nights in SITE 29 and the view could not get any better! It is a site parallel to the road so if you have a trailer, you’re sleeping up top and can walk down a little pathway to the fire pit and picnic table. We were in our teardrop trailer and had plenty of space in the spot and also enjoyed a peek-a-boo view of the water from our bed. The picnic table are is wide open and there is no privacy with the site next to it so if you have a group it’s a great way to lump everyone together. We were thankful to have a quiet family next to us as I can imagine a rowdy bunch could put a damper on the chill time there.
Bathrooms were spotless, always stocked and the park hosts were great!

SITE 46 is a great spot for a bit more privacy away from the loop with a beautiful ocean view at the railing, although I think the brush should be trimmed down a bit as it obstructed the view some. There is a small area in the trees to put up a small tent if you'd like. Our T@G teardrop trailer is small enough that we were able to turn it around on the cement pad to maximize the ocean view from our bed. The only downside to this spot for us was we were under some branches that dripped a ton of sap on top of our trailer and awning.

SITE 48 was amazing! We thought the site next door (46) would be the better site but having stayed in both, we really liked 48 better. There is a small path to walk to the private overlook at the railing and that view was far better than the site next door! We wish we had not split our time between the two sites as 48 was perfect for us. If you have solar panels to charge your battery as we do, this site does allow for a bit more sunlight at the parking pad than the site next door does (46). There is a home on the other side of the trees and we did hear a leaf blower for a while but other than that, it was quite and serene. We would absolutely choose this site again.

The Forest Service has contracted with American Land & Leisure, a private company to manage the park. We were there for 2 nights. I was trying f to figure out which sites were available. There were multiple sites marked as reserved or occupied even though they had been vacant for 24 hours and longer. The rules clearly state that they must be occupied the first night! When I asked the manager about it his well thought answer to my inquiry was “So?” He was rude and condescending and I let him know so Even worse is the condition of the manager/employee sites. Vehicles partially blocking the parking area in front of the check in area and RV’s covered in mold. The park entrance is starting to look like a homeless camp.

No dump station or showers at Tillicum. Had to go to Carl Washburn State Park, 16 miles down the highway.

Very easy access from Hwy 101. No check-in required if you have a reservation. We had an electric/water site, all worked well. You could hear the waves crashing from our site.

Many sites are very un-level, site 20 was off side to side, but we got the rig leveled. Sites 21 and 22 are pull thrus facing up the hill, so they are way high in the front. I'm not sure how a Class A or C could get level without the rear tires off the ground.

Good AT&T cell service, we could stream without the booster. No HDTV channels came in.

Verizon via iPhone 12 with weBoost: 8.54 mbps down and 0.03 mbps up with 52 ms ping. T-Mobile via Nighthawk MR-1100 with a directional antenna: 2-8 mbps down and 0.50-1.75 mbps up with 50-80 ms ping. The campground trees block signal and our directional antenna became key for better signal.

I chose this campground simply to have a place to stay between Yachats and Newport that had signal so I could work on the weekdays.

ADVICE ON SHOWERS. We didn’t take full on showers while here (3 days) since our van’s water tank is small. Instead, we waited until we arrived at our next campground, South Beach Campground near Newport (only 25 minutes north of Tillicum Beach). We got there a couple hours early so we did the whole “shower, dump tank, fill water, rinse and repeat for the next person” in the parking lot near the dump station. We were headed into Newport and didn’t want to wait until we could occupy our site to take a shower.

4-stars - It’s basic and served it’s purpose well. No red flags.

We stayed here the first part of May this year. Our site was right at the edge by the beach, so have no complaints, although we didn't have electric, water, or sewer at our site. Our picnic table and fire pit was surrounded by trees, the ultimate in privacy. And there was a view of the ocean. Filled up with water when we arrived. The grounds were clean, check in was real easy, but had reservations. Rate reflects senior discount. Didn't check out restrooms or showers so can't give an opinion. The beach is great though, I would definately like to return.

A bit pricey considering we paid $32 for dry camping (Oregon now charges lodging tax on campsites). Right on the beach, some sites have ocean views, but most do not. They keep many sites as fcfs year round. The beach here is amazing, so it makes up for the $. Friendly hosts and clean campground. This place gets very popular during the summer, so be there early or reserve ahead of time.

We found affordable RV camping at Tillicum Beach Campground in the Siuslaw National Forest on the Oregon Coast. Tillicum Beach Campground has both first come, first-served and reservable campsites. Some of campsites have ocean views and in this video we show you the best campsites. Amenities include hot showers and flush toilets, a drinking water tank fill station, and trash receptacles. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 0.19 Mbps download speed and 0.03 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 28.5 Mbps download speed and 0.16 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 3.78 Mbps download speed and 1.25 Mbps upload speed.

We were very lucky to find this place off of campendium and being new to Oregon, it was a awesome find. We got one of the walk in sites for a first come first serve and the site was level, big enough for our 32footer and the view to die for. The camp hosts are very nice the bathroom we're clean and the grounds are well kept. Great job. No cell service or analog but, if you walk down to the beach, you can get cell service.
