But even if we did she is would have been fine as we have a harness and leash. So we waited for my family and our dog needed water. We let her out on leash just outside our vehicle to drink. Owner uturned around and complained about her being out of the vehicle. Owner also has confederate paraphernalia all over the campsites. We will never stay at this resort. You shouldn't either.

We had our heart set on a few days of ocean front camping at South Beach, but even before lunch in the middle of the week in mid August it was full. A chat with the host there indicated that it had been that way for at least six weeks. So much for that idea! We started doing some research and landed on Tidelands, in great part because of its competive rates. We got a 30A W/E site for less than we'd paid for a dry site in a Washington State Park the night before!
This is a basic, old school "resort." The FHU sites seemed to be the closest together, while the partial sites and dry sites were scattered around the edges. Most sites will require some leveling. It's a walk out to the beach, crossing a private bridge along the way. This portion of the beach does not allow vehicles so the beach is very quiet.
Someone has a sense of humor that shows in some of the signs. Signage is explicit as is the check-in briefing about dogs remaining on leash but that apparently doesn't apply to the manager. We saw him twice while we were out walking, and both times the leash was in his hand but not connected to his well behaved dog.
We had NO CONNECTIVITY at our site but did have a bit of 3G at the beach when the tide was out.

We stayed in a partial hookup site with loads of space and while we couldn't see the beach, we could hear it which is very soothing. The sites are all on grass with picnic tables and fire rings. Yes, it is an older park, but just what we enjoy. Very nice owners, clean sites, close to many great beach communities.

Sadly Tidelands Resort is no different. A nice enough spot, blessed with a magnificent location. Well off the road, and easy walking access to the stunning beach. The tent sites, scattered around the main field are all pretty nice too. Secluded, private. However...
The RV sites, facilities, hookups, etc are all sorely lacking. It feels like the new owners are hoping that the business will take care of itself with a minimum of effort, or investment. The bathrooms should be knocked down and replaced, and the trash containers need some TLC too. After a busy weekend, it was a mess, and remained that way for a few days.
In short, the park needs some love from its owners, and maybe then it could be a truly fun (and clean) place to stay.
