This is a treasure. Nice trail to see more petroglyphs than we could count, exceptionally clean campground, clean but aging restrooms, shade structure and picnic tables. $7.00 is a great deal! Must have correct change. Camp host visible and on site.

There are 2 pull-through RV sites with electric and water. The rest of the sites are dry camping. There are about 7 dry sites that have trash, a grill and a picnic table under a shelter. There are also a couple tent pads. All spots are first come, first serve. $7.00 for dry, $18.00 for RV sites. When we got here, the visitor center was closed but there is a self serve pay station (exact change or check only). We walked around the sites and the camp host came out to greet us. We are in a 30' fifth wheel and were able to pull up to one of the dry spots since the RV sites were booked. The trailhead to the petroglyphs is just across the parking lot. No pets on the trails. Since this is the actual trailhead, there are bathrooms that are open 24 hours.

Don’t be confused by the sign at the turnoff from 54 saying “Three Rivers Campground Closed”.
This is referring to the similarly named camping spot up the way that was damaged by fire.
This camping spot is open for business.
This place is very quiet, and the hike to check out the petroglyphs is very cool.
We will be back for sure!

So cool to be able to hike into an area with over 20,000 petroglyphs. The camp ground is small with only a few spots. Nice pit toilet and water pump available. Quiet too.

We just came for the day to see the petroglyphs. It was spectacular!!! The most petroglyphs in one place that I've ever seen! They were mostly all in great shape still. There was a bit of graffiti but not much. (GROW UP those of you who like to ruin it for others!) I would definitely suggest a visit if you are into this kind of thing.

Construction M-F on trailhead but, trail open with minor detour, no problem. Sites 1 and 2 are large pull thru’s with power and water, the other sites are dry camp, all sites have covered picnic tables and charcoal grills. Potable water available, free dump at the travel center in Tularosa. Quiet peaceful nights.
