We initially planned to stay at Soledad Canyon for two weeks for easy access to the LA area. We only ended up staying 4 nights because we just did not feel totally comfortable there. Cell service was important to us, so we headed up to loop N and managed to find the only open spot with working electric. The electric was spotty though and we had a surge, so we ended up turning it off and just running on our solar. The sites are very unlevel, there’s trash everywhere, and none of the sewers have caps on them so it smells like sewer consistently. The park is working on fixing the place up, so hopefully when it’s all done, it’ll be a lot better experience. We hope to come back in a year or so and check it out again to see the improvements. One thing we noted was how the employees were extremely nice and helpful and we really appreciated that!

We began our attempt at a stay on the top of the hill (that’s where the best cell service is I hear), but left there because practically every available pedestal I checked came back as some form of negative set up. The ones that didn’t were in full sun. Finally located one in the shade and after leveling and beginning to finish the set up, I discover that the hose bib is leaking significantly and California is dealing with a drought. Can’t let it go. Contact the office and they immediately sent someone to deal with it. Long story short …. we need to move. Maintenance fella takes me on a ride to see other sites (there were several other nicer ones … but lower on the hill with moderate at best cell service). We dropped down a level to a very nice, shaded spot. It so sorry that we did. Cell service wasn’t as good, but I knew coming in that there would be issues.
The bathrooms left a bit to be desired. I can’t say they were dirty, but certainly out dated and in need of some TLC.

The campground is in a beautiful valley outside of LA - Acton is know as a “horse town” to many in LA and the moniker is well earned which adds to the nice mix of relative (one to two hours drive) proximity to the city with rural surroundings.
The campground itself is in rough shape but is seemingly in the midst of a rejuvenation. Many of the electric posts don’t work, litter wasn’t uncommon on the ground, sewer pipes had no cap on them (just a rock covering the open hole..), and much of the inter site landscaping has seen crisper days. That said, they seem to be doing a ton of work to turn it all around and the location, property, and the newer amenities hold promise for this to be an incredible, five star sort of resort. There’s just some clean up, renovation, and landscaping to be done first.
As others have noted, we will also mention, the $25 PER package fee for any deliveries is absurd and especially inconvenient in a town where the bigger stores are 30+ minutes away. Cash only recharge of a laundry card you have to purchase is also a bit much.
Looking forward to returning soon and to what this place could become. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay!

Checkin is a bit odd, you find a site and then tell them where you are. We were able to find 1 site in the 50 amp section for our 40' toy hauler. Power was clean and working, no brown outs so far. The lanes are big enough to maneuver our rig without much fear of running anything over.
Our ATT and Verizon cell phones show 1 bar of service, not enough to make even a basic phone call. Eventually a text message would be received or sent.
I was able to get 50mb/s down and 10mb/s up on our ATT modem using a pair of external antennas pointed at a tower I did not have line of sight to.
This entire park had its heyday back in the 80's or 90's when the Acton, Ca area was more desirable. It seems most people have moved on. They are spending a lot of time and money on renovations, an entire section of 200+ sites is off limits and being ripped apart and upgraded to full hookup / 50 amp service.
There are also metrolink trains passing by every 20-30 min on weekdays and the occasional freight train blaring their horns at the crossing.

The security gate broke so just about anybody has been able to drive into the RV park for weeks. There is also no security guard half the time. There is no cell phone signal. Don’t count on the WiFi, it hardly works. The property is physically crumbling from lack of maintenance. Avoid this place at all costs! There is a reason why this place always has availability, but the other California parks do not. If you need to stay in Acton, stay at the Californian RV Resort. Much better!

They didn’t assign us a site, so we spent 20 minutes attempting to find a site with usable utilities. Many have notices about low voltage. Fourth time’s the charm. When I asked about laundry, they said I had to purchase a $5 refillable card and pay $1.75 per load. Based on the maintenance of the sites, I wasn’t sure it was worth it. There’s a lot of construction around - maybe it will be nice some day. Pretty views, but overall I wouldn’t come here again.

Nice campground, restrooms and shower that I used appeared to be newly remodeled. Surprisingly we're getting 3 bars on our TMobile phone and 0 bars on our Verizon phone. Good place to stay overnight or longer. There is some train noise so be aware of that.
