Overview of Middle Thompson Lake Designated Campsites 40 - 45

Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park offers some of the best wildlife viewing in northwest Montana. There are 83 designated campsites and 8 group campsites spread across the lakes, all require a fee for overnight camping. Campsites are rustic; there is no drinking water available. The access roads are primitive and not recommended for motor homes and large trailers. For large RV's there are 37 developed campsites at nearby Logan State Park, located on Middle Thompson Lake, that are suitable for bigger camping units.

“Right on the Lake”

Overall Rating

We stayed here for 6 nights over the 4th of July. We loved it. It was $20/night and no hookups of any kind. Montana residence are $12 and I think Montana seniors were $6. No discounts of any kind for out of staters. It's right on US Highway 2 so it's convenient but you also get road noise. Other than that it was pretty quiet. First come first serve. We have AT&T and had absolutely no service.
