Starkly beautiful spot, however the reservoir was dry as a bone. Not much vegetation to protect from the wind. All spots on asphalt pavement. A couple vault toilets. Only noise was a group of coyotes howling at sunset.
About 20 minutes off I-84 freeway to the campground.

This is a quiet spot that no one knows about. Long winding gravel road that at times was tight But patience is a virtue. Had a 32 class a and did fine. Has picnic tables and rings. No cell service tho. Right on the water. Has the whole place to ourselves to watch the birds and a beautiful sunset!
Rich & Trish would stay here again

Camped on Thursday, 6/18/2020. Dusty gravel road to get in, about 6-8 miles, but the road was in good condition. Secluded lake that is used for area irrigation. Was told it empties out in late summer. Stocked with fish, most folks appear to come for the fishing. Has nice boat dock with plenty of trailer parking. Seems to be used by the locals mostly and is busy on the weekends. Camping was great, wide open, no trees, very quite. Surrounded by rolling hills with wind generators on the tops. Great for solar and was clean with 2 pit type outhouses. Camp sites have nice tables, fire rings & BBQs. Lots of room, big rig friendly, 0-1 bar Verizon. About 16 miles from Union, OR, or 13 miles from North Powder, OR on I-84.
