Nice to be back as we took a surprise turn north to avoid the huge winds forecast for Albuquerque and northern Arizona. We planned to stay one night but the weather was awesome and we explored Chaco Canyon and a great mountain drive through Abiquiú and Los Alamos and Jemez Springs.
We ate excellent food in the small restaurants of Cuba and at the Abiquiú Inn. Wow!
Teresa is almost 80 and still going strong. Her hair salon and camping in her yard keep her on her best game.
Some campers are here for the season or longer doing construction. There is also a long term rented trailer and you might find tents set up in the grass.

Ok for one night. A little noisy. Right off the 550.
Not very scenic. Friendly service. FHU

We are 63’ with our tow trailer and we fit in one pull through spot. The water is delicious, the 50amp was great, the sewer hookup worked well.
The community has a regionally famous restaurant, El Bruno, and it is delicious! (See our YELP review for details)
Teresa also has a beauty shop so get your hair cut or colored while camping.
We will stay again on another trip.

Theresa is a sweetheart. RV Park is not fancy but great for an overnight stop. We were out of butter and when I asked her where the closest place to get butter she went and got us some while we were setting up.. Such a nice lady.

We wanted to visit Chaco Culture NP. This was a great place to stay. Full hookups and access to bathroom/shower room. Theresa is a very sweet lady. She takes cash and check only. Gas nearby and the downtown of Cuba has a few small restaurants. The land is on 550, a major road, so expect some noise. We were going to stay only 2 nights to be able to see Chaco then move on, but a really big dust storm with very high winds came through the area so we had to extend another day. So happy we did! When we left she gave us hugs and told us we could return at any time! She reminded us of a sweet grandma! 😊

At the current time only 2 sites available as the others have long term renters. Quaint little camp ground. Larger RV units will need to exercise caution around tree. Full hookups with 30 and 50 amp power. WiFi available. Great one nite stop over.
Did I say only $20 cash or check.
Nice little lady runs this park!

This RV Park is the most haphazardly laid out place I've seen. Imagine if you had a really large lot. Near the front, you own a small beauty parlor. On your land are a couple of old mobile homes. You decide to add some RV hookups (probably 20 years ago) and you just kinda scatter them about in what is only a semblance of order. That gives you an idea. I had called a few weeks before and "reserved" a 50 amp site (there are only 2). She took my name. That was it. No confirmation #, nothing. I had a bad feeling from the start. We arrive just before 7 (that's when we said we'd arrive) and both 50 amp spots were taken. She had forgotten we were coming. She offered us a 30 amp site, which for one night, was more than fine. We backed in (sites are uneven, we had to add blocks to keep our motorhome from being held in the air by the jacks) and started set up. I got my money's worth from my EMS that day! We got a reverse polarity error!!! Fortunately, the site near us (unused) was close enough I could run my power cable that way, and it checked out okay. After that, all was well.
It's a very good location, on the north end of Cuba (tiny town). We grabbed take out dinner from the historic El Bruno restaurant, which was phenomenal. The next morning, we struck camp and drove away. It all worked out okay, but don't expect your reservations to be honored. Theresa is super friendly, but clearly relies only on her memory to help her with reservations. Be prepared with a Plan B, I guess, in case you show up and she's rented everything. But at $20, it's a reasonable stay.

It's right on the hwy (a little noisy). There's a natural gas pipe station on the property that smells faintly. The lady who runs it was very nice. It just wasn't workable for us. There is really not much in terms of rv spots on the 550. We passed through Aztec and that looked like a cute town...maybe stay there instead.
