Located on 915, just east of Alma. Mosquitoes are bad since the first frost has yet to come. Park anywhere, flushing toilet, and water if you need. We signed the book and added our pin to the map.

The property backs up to a beautiful marsh with a covered community area with a fire pit to sit and chat with other campers. He has a brick oven for pizzas and one flushing toilet. In the office Don has a map with pins from people all over the world who have come to stay here. He also has guest books dating all the way back to 2000. His property is only about a 20-30 minute drive to Fundy National Park and Hopewell Rocks! Both are great places to explore. We would definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. Be sure to DONATE to help keep this wonderful place open

When I pulled in, I wasn't sure what to make of The Shire, a common experience for newcomers. But this place is for real. It borders a marsh, so the bugs can be ferocious. But there's a shelter with a fire pit where campers often gather at night to swap stories and tips. One flush toilet and a pit toilet. And a statue of the tin woodma... more

And a statue of the tin woodman (also a historic cemetery right next door). Not for everyone, but I would go back in a heartbeat.

This is a wonderful spot for a tent or small rig. Don is great and I can't say enough about this small location. Close to Alma and Hopewell Rocks. You will come again and again! Sally his Golden Lab is wonderful! Don asks for donations if possible so give what you can!

We found this campground on another website and figured we'd give it a try as it wasn't on the way. Unfortunately Don wasn't around when we arrived, but we found a space and introduced ourselves to our neighbours. Half a dozen other campers were there in tents and vanagons, all super friendly. We sat around the communal fire and chatted all evening with like minded people, and it was fantastic! Definitely a different kind of campground, but a wonderful experience. We met Don in the morning, and he's a lovely, enthusiastic, and gracious host.
